BARTA is a secure communication application developed for authorized personnel of the Bangladesh Army. The application is intended for official communication and is operated in accordance with applicable Bangladesh Army policies, procedures, and information-security requirements.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when using the BARTA application.
BARTA is a restricted-access application and is not intended for general public use.
Access to BARTA is subject to authorization and verification requirements established by the Bangladesh Army.
BARTA uses an OTP-based authentication mechanism to verify an authorized user's official mobile number.
The information required for authentication may include:
Authentication information is used for access control and security purposes and is not intended to be used for unrelated purposes.
BARTA is designed so that users' chat messages are not stored on the BARTA server as a server-side message backup.
Chat data is:
Because BARTA does not maintain a server-side backup of users' chat messages, previously stored chat data cannot generally be restored from the BARTA server if the local copy is deleted or removed.
For security reasons, each fresh OTP-based login is treated as a new device session.
When a new login session is established:
As a result, users should understand that logging in again using OTP may permanently remove locally stored chat history from the previous device session.
BARTA retains information necessary to maintain authorized group memberships.
When an authorized user completes a new OTP-based login, their existing authorized group memberships may be restored automatically.
Restoring group membership does not mean that previously stored chat messages are restored. Group membership information and locally stored chat history are handled separately.
Files shared through BARTA are stored in encrypted form within the Bangladesh Army Data Centre.
Appropriate security controls are applied to protect stored files from unauthorized access. Stored files are not intended to be accessible arbitrarily by individual administrators or other unauthorized persons.
Access to shared files is controlled according to the application's authorization and security mechanisms and applicable Bangladesh Army policies.
BARTA employs encryption and security mechanisms designed to protect communication data and shared files.
In particular:
Although reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are implemented, no electronic storage or communication system can be guaranteed to be completely immune from every possible security threat.
BARTA follows a security-oriented data-retention model.
BARTA does not maintain users' chat messages as a server-side backup. Chat history is stored locally on the user's device in encrypted form.
Shared files may be retained in encrypted form within the Bangladesh Army Data Centre in accordance with applicable operational, security, and administrative requirements.
Information necessary to authenticate authorized users and maintain access to BARTA may be retained for as long as required to operate, secure, and administer the service.
Retention periods may be determined by applicable Bangladesh Army policies and operational requirements.
Access to BARTA data is restricted according to applicable authorization and security controls.
BARTA does not provide unrestricted access to users' stored data to individual administrators.
Any authorized access to information or infrastructure is subject to applicable Bangladesh Army security policies, operational requirements, and access-control procedures.
BARTA is an official restricted communication platform. Information handled by BARTA is not intended for sale, advertising, or commercial data-sharing purposes.

BARTA does not sell users' personal information.
BARTA may use technical services or infrastructure necessary to provide authentication, notifications, connectivity, security, application operation, or other required functionality.

Because chat data is stored locally and encrypted on the user's device, users should report a lost, stolen, or compromised device through the appropriate official channels as soon as possible.
A new OTP-based login is treated as a new device session, and previously stored local chat data is removed as part of the new-session security process.
BARTA is a restricted official communication application and is not intended for children or the general public. Access is limited to personnel authorized by the Bangladesh Army.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when BARTA's functionality, security architecture, operational requirements, or applicable policies change.
The latest version will be made available through the appropriate official BARTA distribution or information channels.
